Cold Conditions Cancel Yet Another Morning
Following the high of a fantastic morning of rugby last week (Mini & Youth Teams participating in home fixtures), it was a crying shame that the cold weather returned to take away momentum as it has done on numerous occasions over the past few months.
Apologies for the late notification of the cancellation, as with all good intentions our preference is to host rugby each week, unfortunately on this occasion the frozen pitches and freezing fog got the upper hand yet again.
With our members at the club this morning checking pitch conditions, this removed the capacity to up date this site to advise our players and parents prior to their departure. But they were there to personally advise you of the cancellation and to make you aware that there will be a practice session for Mini Rugby Players next week at the normal time. Can we use this opportunity to apologise to everyone who made their way to club this morning, to be advised of the cancellation?
Confirmation: Saturday 27th February is now a PRACTICE SESSION at home at 9am
(Weather Permitting)

Fantastic Family Morning @ Chambers Park
Saturday 13th turned out to be a dry, bright, fresh morning and these ingredients contributed to what turned out to be a fantastic morning of Mini Rugby within Chambers Park.
Chambers Park had a slice of everything on offer on Saturday with great sporting opposition from Dromore, excellent encouragement from Grandparents, Parents, family & friends and not forgetting volunteer coaches.
Saturday morning was a real credit to everyone involved especially those parental volunteers who went that extra yard by preparing Soup and Hot Dogs for our visitors as well as setting up a hot beverages table to help warm everyone supporting on the sidelines.
Volunteers are always most welcome each Saturday and especially when hosting a visiting team. Anyone interested should introduce themselves to any team coach. Volunteer contribution is essential to every club in establishing and building upon that Club and Community atmosphere and ethos.
Well done to everyone who contibuted
This Saturday see our players return to skill and team development with another practice session.

Adverse Weather Affects Play
All sections of our club have been seriously affected by the extreme weather we have experienced lately. Below we have attached some photos to prove that Mini Rugby is still alive a kicking within Chambers Park.
PRFC Mini Rugby is hoping that weather conditions improve to allow this weekend’s (13/02/10) fixture against Dromore RFC to go ahead.
As is the norm support and assistance is always most welcomed from our Members to extend a warm welcome to our visitors on what is likely to be a cold morning.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Martin for taking time out of his busy schedule to supply us with these fantastic photographs – Who knows you may appear within the next edition!

Ballynahinch Cancel Mini Rugby
PRFC would like to apologise to all Players, Parents and Supporters for the late notification of the Cancellation of Mini Rugby this morning. As we can imagine due to the early start this is very frustrating to be cancelled at the last minute, equally its also frustrating for all PRFC Coaching volunteers as similarly to players we had already left our homes to congregate at the club to organise transport to Ballynahinch.
Unfortunately for PRFC, on this occasion we were not the host club and it would be unsporting for us to cancel a fixture with another club, especially if their pitches are playable, and they have prepared hospitality to host our club. Contact was made by PRFC yesterday evening with Ballynahinch Mini Rugby Convener, and at this point hinch’s pitches were still playable and the fixture was still going ahead. In contrast to this communication our Mini Rugby Convener was contacted this morning at 08:20am whilst opening the gates to Chamber Park to state pitches were now unplayable and the fixture had to be cancelled.
At this point it was ultimately too late to update the website to mass circulate communication that Mini Rugby was now cancelled, as thus this was communicated verbally as Players, Parents, Supporters and Coaches arrived.
To conclude it is hoped that parents and players show understanding to PRFC Coaching volunteers due to the chain of events that resulted in the late communication this morning. In a perfect world events like this would not occur, and it is hoped because unfortunately events like this do happen, that all associated with PRFC Mini Rugby show understanding and ultimately pull together to manage and deal with these situations when they occur.
Apologies for this morning and thank you
