Portadown Under 13s continued against Malone in the return match at Chambers Park were they had left off the previous week when the two sides faced each other in Belfast. Having put in a great second half performance in Belfast Mervyn Gill’s & Chris Taylor’s young side were bursting with confidence and this was evident right from the start when they put Malone under pressure from the kick off. Most of the match was spent in the Malone half as Portadown scored 24 unanswered points in the first half through great team work. The Portadown forwards dominated the scrums and lineouts providing quick ball for an enterprising backlineThe second half wasa a reflection of the first with a dispirited Malone side overwhelmed by the young Ports.
